I don't understand slang

My school along with many other schools in the country have started a new initiative called Drop Everything And Read which is basically where they force us to read a book on a Monday against our will. Now I'm not against reading as I do it quite a lot on my phone but I don't really like the idea of being told when I have to read, it's almost as bad as the library lessons we used to have in KS3. Anyway today in our Drop Everything And Read time in my form we were supposed to be reading a Christmas carol but it was super boring with lots of long irrelevant words so me and my friend started talking about other stuff.

My form tutor who is normally quite laid back was barking down everyone's throats to read aloud, while making sure to do the voices of each character (yes, she's a drama teacher). She kept pacing around the room checking to make sure that we were reading aloud to our partner so me and my friend's conversation was kind of cut short at times. I'm not quite sure how we got on the topic of slang but I think it's because I was talking about a new rap song that was stuck in my head (it's No Type by Rae Sremmurd if you want to check it out). Basically I was trying to explain to her what different slang words mean because she doesn't really understand any of them. I am a lot more urban than my school friends.

I found this quite funny as it just seems like second nature to me to say these things, sometimes without thinking twice about it but I guess it's different for her. We definitely had an interesting conversation about why people use slang and what different words mean especially when she kept interrupting me to say what she thought some words mean. Other than this school was okay today, I'm just looking forward to the fact that the half term is soon but also knowing that I'll probably have work to do in it. For now school is mostly bearable as I'm kind of getting into the swing of things.

If you have any slang words that you don't understand leave a comment below and I'll try to answer it as best I can.

Till Tomorrow x.
