Sixth Form Open Evenings

Recently all the sixth forms in my borough had an event where they all showcased their school. They all basically had a stall where they had all of their prospectuses and leaflets about their school. I went there with my Dad and we looked around and picked up all of the prospectuses available (I wanted to keep my options open). Since I went during the school day, I was the only one from my school there but there was another school who had brought all of their year 11s to this event. In the upcoming weeks I will be attending some individual school open evenings so then I'll be able to give you a more in depth look at how these open evenings work and what to expect.

The people presenting their schools were really nice and friendly, so they are definitely willing to answer any questions you may have in regards to your sixth form choice. When you go to option evenings remember to keep an open mind because your opinion of a school can change once you see the facilities. But also remember that at these option evenings schools are going to present you with the best side of their school so it's important to ask others or look online to find out what the school's really like. To add make sure to take any prospectuses (if you don't know what a prospectus is, it's basically a booklet they put together about their school and what they offer) or any brochures and handouts. They may seem like useless bits of paper that you will just throw away but it can help you to compare what schools offer to help you to make the right decision for you.

I hope that this quick post gives you a little extra information about sixth form open evenings and as I said before I will go into more detail once I actually start going to individual school open evenings.

Till Tomorrow x.
